Election of Officers
was held at the June 8th meeting on the Oakridge
Club Grounds.
Our new officers are as follows.
President Bernie Gray
Vice President Bill Davis
Treasurer Ritch Jouerzenski
Secretary Amy Kalgrin
Board Of Director - Bob Kalgrin
(1 yr)
At our next club meeting on July 13, we will accept
nominations from the club membership for the 2 yr.
board position. The election will occur at the
following months meeting. As the election will not
be held at the same meeting as the nominations,
the nominated individual will not have to be present
to accept the nomination. A nomination committee
will be assigned to contact any nominated
individual to determine his/her willingness to accept
the nomination.
The work detail that was to be held at Phil Toys is
canceled. We will hold the work detail at the club
grounds Saturday June 29 as early as you can get
there, on and about 9 am. Bring your landscaping
tools, chain saws, axes, rakes and shovels.
April 19 & 20 2008 was a great weekend at
the Oak Ridge grounds. The weather cooperated
and more than 90 dogs were entered in the first
hunt test held at the new grounds in Harrisville PA.
The club pulled together in one tremendous effort
that was but a dream in October when they signed
the lease on 200 acres. In that short time a club
house was built, a road was cut, and grounds were
cleaned up and prepped for the April Hunt Test.
If you build it they will come.
Well, they certainly did. More than 90 dogs were
entered in the weekend event, and handlers from
as far away as Georgia, North Carolina and Canada
ran their dogs.
We had one field for the Juniors and one for the
Masters and Seniors. In addition an exercise field
was available to run dogs before their brace.
Everything went rather smoothly and the Hunt Test
Chairman Leon Blashock and Club President Chap
Nebinger can be proud of the results.

Oak Ridge Pointing Dog Club Mission Statement
The Oak Ridge Pointing Dog Club is an organization for the sportsman who wants to do more than just hunt with their pointing dog during the hunting season. The club promotes the training and use of pointing dogs in the sport of upland hunting and AKC sanctioned hunt test.
|
By becoming a member of the Oak Ridge Pointing Dog Club you become part of a club with approximately 60 members who share a love of sporting dogs and the outdoors. During informal training days you have the opportunity to work your dog with other member's dogs and get advice from others if you want it. We also have club members interested in showing, obedience and agility training. We have picnics and other social events too. The club sponsors AKC sanctioned hunt tests in the spring and fall.
